Baking a Difference

by Bella Baker

Ruth Shackleford, an FFA Area Officer from Marceline, Missouri, is making a name for herself with a unique Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) in baking. While many SAEs focus on traditional agriculture, Ruth has combined her passion for leadership with culinary arts. In addition to serving as an area officer, she holds a unique leadership position at her FFA chapter, where she helps guide members in developing their own SAEs and helps students prepare for contests. Ruth is dedicated to inspiring FFA members to explore diverse opportunities in agriculture, think outside the box, and develop entrepreneurial skills that connect personal passions with the agricultural industry.
