The Moberly boys tennis team ran into 2-time defending State Champion, Clayton, and fell 5-0 in the Class 1 quarterfinals on Tuesday. The Spartans will be represented at the MSHSAA State Doubles Tournament by the top two district duos in Ryan O’Laughlin/Harry O’Laughlin and Lincoln Hall/Christian Lucas starting Thursday in Springfield.
Those seniors, along with Josiah Owen and Corbin Samp, have brought the program to unprecedented heights. The Spartans have won back-to-back NCMC and District titles. Moberly was 25-2 this season and had the all-NCMC singles players at #1-Ryan O’Laughlin, #2-Harry O’Laughlin, #3-Lincoln Hall, #4-Christian Lucas and #6-Corbin Samp, and all-NCMC doubles teams in #1-Enda Chang/Josiah Owen and #2-Brian Wright/Ben Noonan.
