Greyhounds Baseball Falls to East Central 9-7 in 10 Innings

The East Central Falcons finished the series sweep of MACC with a 9-7 win in ten innings Saturday. Neither team ever led by more than two, with the Greyhounds tying the game 3-3 on Max Guenther’s home run in the fourth, and taking their first lead in the fifth.

J.B. Connoley with the call on nemopressbox.com. The Falcons reclaimed the lead in the sixth, and Moberly tied it at 6-6 in the seventh on an RBI ground out by A.J. Lucas. East Central scored a run in the eighth on a wild pitch, but the Greyhounds came back in the ninth to force extra innings.

Moberly stranded the potential winning run at second, and East Central’s Henry Kufa hit a two-run homer in the tenth for the eventual winning runs. The Greyhounds got the tying runs aboard in the bottom of the tenth, but Jake Stedman flied out to end the game. Stedman went 4-for-5 with three doubles and five runs scored. Moberly is 17-14, and has a doubleheader at Westminster’s JV Tuesday. East Central is 13-13.
