Sophomore quarterback Dylan Hair was selected as the Great Lakes Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week following one of few record-breaking performances in the Bulldogs’ 55-3 victory over Southwest Baptist on Saturday.
Hair tied a 20-year old school record with six touchdown passes on Saturday. He matched Jake Czeschin’s 2004 single-game mark set against Missouri S&T. He had five TD tosses in the first half of 34, 23, 30, 26 and 18 then in the third quarter found Christopher Kerr for a 38-yard strike before departing the game up 48.3. Three of those touchdown passes went to Joesph Spaulding, one shy of the single-game receiving touchdown mark.
He finished an efficient 18-of-23 for 277 yards.
His 25 touchdown passes this season ties him for second on the school’s single-season list with Eric Howe (2000) and Matt Ticich (2007). He has also thrown for more passing yards by a Bulldogs quarterback in a season since Ticich threw for 2,347 in 2008. Hair sits at 2,235 yards.
