The Harrisburg Bulldogs snapped a five-game losing streak with a 28-8 win over Fayette.
On fourth down and just past the midway point of the first quarter, Harrisburg quarterback Rylee Robinson ran in a touchdown from 25 yards out. He pulled off another 4th down touchdown just over two minutes later. That one was with his arm.
Robinson pulled off the trifecta of 4th down touchdowns on the first play of the second quarter.
Unofficially, Robinson had 108 passing yards, 81 rushing yards, four total touchdowns and he pinned two punts inside the 2. He was named Freeman Financial and Insurance Outstanding Player of the Game.
Fayette’s defense changed the complexion of the game in the final minute of the first half.
Brodi Tucker had the pick six. Fayette made multiple defensive stops in the second half, but the offense couldn’t overcome a dominant performance from Harrisburg’s defensive front. Jonathan Darwent, Bender Wardrip, Zane Wade and Aden Stone helped limit star running back Carter Vroman to six yards on 10 carries.
Harrisburg’s Hunter Winscott had 101 rushing yards. Silas Buckler caught four passes for 82 yards. Both teams are now 3-5.
