Cooper Harvey pitched a complete game shutout and DC Dale was responsible for every run in a 3-0 win for Westran over Schuyler County Tuesday. The result gave Salisbury a share of the conference title along with Schuyler.
Harvey and Schuyler’s Gage Brownell went blow-for-blow opposite one another on the mound. The second out recorded in the bottom of the third was the first time the ball left the infield. Harvey reached on a walk in the top of the fourth. That’s when Dale came through with a big swing.
Dale added an RBI infield single in the sixth. Harvey gave up just two hits, two walks and struck out 11 over his seven innings. They were named Co-Freeman Financial and Insurance Outstanding Players of the Game.
Schuyler’s biggest threat came in the sixth when the Rams got runners to second and third but Harvey forced a groundout to end the inning.
Brownell went six innings and gave up three runs, three hits, one walk and struck out 12. Lathan Martin tossed a scoreless seventh.
At 13-5, Westran now has its winningest season since 2018. Schuyler County drops its third straight and falls to 10-10.
