North Shelby football coach Josh Klusmeyer and softball coach Amber Klusmeyer have resigned. High school principal Landon Daniel said the couple cited “personal and professional reasons” in making their decision.
A familiar face returns to help fill the football gap. The North Shelby School Board hired Kent O’Laughlin to be the Raiders Head Football Coach on Thursday night. His son, Marion County principal Aaron O’Laughlin will be added as an assistant coach. Scott Gaines and Ray Bacon will remain on the football staff.
Kent O’Laughlin has been South Shelby boys baskeball coach the last three years, before stepping down. He previously coached North Shelby football for a couple seasons in the mid-90’s.
Klusmeyer was hired in the offseason to replace the departed David Stuckey, who led North Shelby to an 8-Man Show-Me Bowl appearance, where the Raiders lost to Archie.
