Moberly and Centralia split a doubleheader Friday night.
The Moberly boys used a hot start to help them in a 57-48 victory. Mason Bivins powered the early offense.
Bivins scored all 10 of his points in that opening quarter and the Spartans led 20-3. Centralia gradually chipped away and got a big shot at the end of the third quarter.
The Panthers scored the opening bucket of the fourth to cut the deficit to six, but that’s as close as they would get. Moberly’s Cameron Doubrava, who had just 14 points in his last four games combined, broke through for a 22-point game.
Collin Knox chipped in 11 for the 7-3 Spartans. Ethan Ross led 4-5 Centralia with 11.
The Centralia girls stayed perfect on the season, cruising to a 71-34 victory. Braylin Brunkhorst had 10 of her game-high 22 points in the first quarter.
The Lady Panthers led 21-7 after one and 43-19 at half. Ryenn Gordon scored 16 while Madi Johnson and Ealynne Bostick each had nine.
Kyia Tydings paced 2-7 Moberly with 12 and Olivia Dunwoody followed with 10.
