New Franklin senior, Brynn Belstle signed her National Letter of Intent today to play softball at the next level, with division one program, Georgia State. Belstle led the Lady Bulldogs to a very successful season at 20-5 including an undefeated run to win the CAC championship! On the season Belstle had an amazing 1.20 ERA striking out over 200 hitters. She was also no slouch at the plate hitting over .400. Belstle leaves New Franklin as possibly the most decorated softball player in school history. Brynn broke the career strike out record and has a giant lead with 714 career strikeouts in three years. Head Coach Cory Nicholson had this to say about his all state pitcher, “Brynn is the ultimate player and one that stapled her way into history here at New Franklin. One of the best athletes and kids we could’ve asked for. I know she’ll make an instant impact for Georgia State next year and be a huge part of their success.”
