New-Look Hallsville Erupts Early To Run-Rule Moberly

Hallsville pounded out 12 hits on opening night and posted a 12-1, 5-inning victory over Moberly at home on Thursday evening. The Lady Indians are replacing seven starters this season, but the new-look lineup came out ready and batted around in the first inning. Colbie Fielder led off and reached on a dropped third strike. Madi Carmichael brought her home with a single. Returning All-Stater Payton Davis singled to bring up newcomer Grace Kempf:

Brad Boyer with the call on nemopressbox.com. A walk, an error and an RBI single by Maleah Kilpack made it 4-0 after one. Kempf had two more RBI in the second and another newcomer Rylie Whittle added a two-RBI single to make it 8-0 after two. That was more than enough support for Carmichael, who was named our Freeman Financial Insurance Player of the Game. Along with going 2-3 at the plate, with an RBI, the Lady Indians starting pitcher gave up just one run on two hits, with six strikeouts and no walks.

Mia Faught was the losing pitcher going two innings, but went 2-2 at the plate with the lone RBI on a 4th inning double. Brynn Goins pitched the final two innings for Moberly.

Both Moberly and Hallsville will host 8-team bracket tournaments on Saturday. You can find the full broadcast by going to the Game Archives section of nemopressbox.com.
