The Priory Ravens rallied for six runs in the top of the seventh and stunned the Macon Tigers 10-8 in a Class 3 sectional Tuesday.
After recording the first out of the inning with an 8-4 lead, Macon committed an error that allowed a run to score then issued three straight walks, the last two of which came with the bases loaded. Nate Huck tied the game with a sacrifice fly. Anthony Beffa gave the Ravens the lead.
Preston Burns and Kace Holman hit back-to-back one-out singles in the bottom half but Priory retired the next two to close out the game.
The Ravens scored in the game’s opening frame before Macon responded with six runs in the bottom of the first. Skyler Anderson had a two-run single and Emerson Young a two-run double.
All six runs were tagged to Priory starter Timmy Charles and he was removed before recording an out. The Ravens chipped away with two runs in the third and one run in the fourth. Macon had a two-run fourth behind a Trey Hatcher sac fly and Hagan Ritter RBI double.
Ritter, Burns, Derek Weydert and Kennon Issacson all pitched for Macon. Issacson had two hits out of the leadoff spot.
Macon’s season ends at 18-6 overall.
