South Shelby scored on another La Plata error to go up 8-7 in the sixth, then the Ladybirds had a five-hit seventh to add some insurance runs.
South Shelby’s Jayda Lanpher was named the Freeman Financial and Insurance Outstanding Player of the Game with a 2-for-4 performance. Bella Cook also went 2-for-4. Callie McWilliams earned the complete game win. Layne Mack took the loss for La Plata and was one of three Lady Dogs with two hits along with Wood and Izzy Joyce.
