Brad Boyer with the call on nemopressbox.com. Dylan Hair’s 6th touchdown pass tied the program record previously set by Jake Czeschin in 2004. Hair broke his brother, Nolan’s old mark of five touchdown passes in a GLVC game.
Jake Closser also set a record…..
Closser’s 86-yard punt return broke the previous mark of 84 yards set by Tony Gerke in 1989. Closser also celebrated Senior Day with his 11th career interception, which puts him on the program’s top 10 list. He also watched younger brother, Nick, pick off his first pass in college.
Five of Hair’s touchdown passes came in the first half leading to a 35-3 lead at halftime. Three TD passes went to Joseph Spaulding, which is one off the program record. Jackson Overton caught his 10th touchdown pass of the season to move into sole possession of 2nd place on the Bulldog list. Hair is also tied for 2nd in season touchdown passes, with 25.
Harrison Fowler of Hallsville scored his first collegiate touchdown to round out the scoring. Jacksyn Miller of Moberly tied for the team-high in tackles with six. He was part of the 15 player senior class, along with Westran graduate Ben Miller. Jalen Kent of Kirksville caught his first two passes in college.
The 52-point margin matched the largest margin of victory in a GLVC game (52-0 vs. Jewell in 2021)
Truman is tied with Upper Iowa for second place in the GLVC and has the tie-break on the Peacocks. Assuming conference-champion Indianapolis gets a berth in the NCAA playoffs, the Bulldogs will wait for an invitation to the America’s Crossroads Bowl.
