Truman Erupts After a Giveaway and Pulls Away From the Peacocks

Truman State scored 35 unanswered points to beat Upper Iowa 48-21 at Stokes Stadium on Saturday. The explosion came after Tade Parsons returned an interception 34 yards for a touchdown to put the Peacocks up 14-13 with just over a minute left in the first half. Bulldog quarterback Dylan Hair quickly rebounded, after Gerard Grewe returned the ensuing kickoff to the 48. Four plays later the former Blair Oaks standout was in the endzone:

Brad Boyer with the call on nemopressbox.com. The Bulldogs stopped UIU’s first drive of the second half with their second interception. Hair turned that into points on Grewe’s first trip to the endzone:

Hair also had touchdown passes to Jackson Overton and Nathan Ryan to account for four touchdowns. He had 271 yards to total offense. Denim Cook had an eight yard touchdown run in the 4th quarter and carried the ball 15 times for 110 yards. Freshman Diego Perez had his first two collegiate field goals to open the scoring.

Truman improves to 3-3 and 2-1 in the GLVC. The Bulldogs will host Quincy for Homecoming next Saturday and we will have the broadcast starting at 1:10. Upper Iowa’s four-game winning streak ended.
